Established in 1992, Gallery Anadiel is the only gallery specifically dedicated to exhibiting and creating opportunities for contemporary Palestinian art. Its aim is to offer Palestinians the opportunity to encounter art and art movements from elsewhere and to enable those who visit from abroad to observe and learn about Palestinian art and artists. The gallery averages six shows a year of both resident Palestinians, Palestinians from the diaspora and major artists from other countries. In its own words, ‘Gallery Anadiel aims to emphasise the importance of all aspects of creating and presenting a stimulating and siginificant gallery. It gives prominence to the exhibition space as a sensitive and inspiring arena for the presentation of works of art, the professionalism and expertise of curating a show and the art of designing exciting and inspiring exhibitions’. The actual design of the gallery itself was created in such a way as to reflect the new and unconventional.
