Operating as part of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Israel Film Center represents the government in all matters concerning film production in the country. It promotes film production in Israel by both local and foreign film makers, providing overseas directors interested in shooting in Israel with information, professional literature and personal briefings. Encouraging international collaboration, the Center has signed co-production agreements with Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Sweden. The Center organises information booths to promote Israeli cinema at the film festivals in Cannes and Berlin, on MIP TV and at the Locations Expo held during the American Film Market in Los Angeles. Publications distributed by the Center worldwide include the Israel Film Center Yearbook featuring a survey of recent Israeli films and local industry news, the Israel Film Industry Directory – an updated list of production services rendered to overseas productions shot in Israel, Israel’s co-production agreements, and a wide variety of information brochures.
